This spicy Indian chicken recipe is a flavoursome addition to any dinner, party or at any time. It’s simple, tasty, and can be spiced to all tastes.
Ingredients
- 12 chicken drumsticks, skin removed
- 1 tbsp crushed garlic
- 1 tbsp crushed root ginger
- 1 tbsp finely chopped chilli
- 3 tsp salt
- 3 heaped tsp dharnia jeera
- 2 tsp hot chilli powder
- 1 tsp sugar
- 3-4 tsp tandoori masala powder
- ½ tsp turmeric
- 9 tbsp olive oil
- 3 tbsp vinegar
- 3-4 tbsp natural yoghurt
- 3 tbsp dried coriander leaves
Instructions
- Deeply score each chicken piece and place in an oven proof dish.
- Combine the rest of the ingredients except the coriander to create the marinade. Coat the chicken, sprinkle over the coriander, then leave to marinate overnight.
- When ready to cook, preheat the oven to 190°C/gas mark 5.
- Bake the chicken for an hour, or until cooked through.
- Serve with rice.
